Language Stars – in action again.

Language Stars – in action again

Having done so well in the area finals five language stars made their way to Bath University to represent the school and compete in the regional finals against schools from as far afield as Plymouth and Devon.  As ever the girls gave their all in the formal setting of the large lecture theatre and they competed well against very good opposition.

Alyx talked about her disastrous holidays and made us all chuckle with her story about the lost luggage.  Alex gave us a very serious and in-depth talk about la plongée sous-marine and Lucie (below) talked about the French language – la langue de l’amour.

Lucie – KS5 Near-native speaker

India then did her presentation on Simón Bolívar – her factual knowledge was excellent and she did well to remember all those dates!

All the girls did themselves proud and they all enjoyed the experience.  Special congratulations must go to Gwen who was the only girl to win a prize on the day.

Gwen – KS3 – Non-native speaker, runner-up

Gwen talked in German about her home town of Hong Kong.  She spoke with confidence and displayed great linguistic ability.  Her German was faultless and she was a deserved winner.  Well done!

Thanks to Routes into Languages for organising such a fantastic event.
